Fellowship last week: Thank God that the topic “Mizpah” led by Jonathan made us reflect upon our faith by studying the origin of the name “Mizpah” (Gen 31.43-55) and its meaning, i.e. watch. Not only the Lord watching us, but also we selves watch our own, by watching watchfully. “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. (Mat 26.41)” Watching and being watchful, it’s the lesson we learned about.
Felloship of the coming week: 23.7. It’s supposedly the topic “Egypt” led by Shui-Rou. Unfortunately Shui-Rou is unable to attend due to a friend’s visiting, thus we plan a special topic which is related to our them of this season, that “Did Israelites ever receive the land God has promised?” led by Jonathan. Every member may also ponder this question in advance. Shui-Rou’s turn will be postponed to October.
Bible verse for thinking: Ephraim also is like a silly dove, without sense—They call to Egypt; They go to Assyria. (Hos 7.11)
God is our best counselor. In Him is the complete wisdom, knowledge and the keys to all difficulties. Facing the disturbances of life, we shall not blindly seek for helps by all means, neither firstly search online or request as more as possible the experiences, theories and short cuts of the world. In God’s sight, it’s kind of a silly dove, without sense, the sense of direction of life. We shall seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to us.
May the Lord give us wise minds, so that we may have the sense of entrusting our time in His hand.
